Hello Ben,
I am very new to SDR and want to use SdrDX 2.11 as a panadapter on my MacBook Air with an Elecraft KX3. There is an RX I/Q 2.5 mm connection on the KX3, and I am assuming I can use a cable with a 2.5 mm stereo male connector on one end and USB on the other end. Any thoughts on how to get the MacBook Air to recognize the audio coming in through the USB port on this cable and displayed in SdrDX? I’ve called Apple for help, and they are clueless.
Thank you,
Earle

Hi, Earle.
An IQ signal is essentially wide bandwidth audio. So what you want to do is use a stereo audio cable from your Elecraft to the audio input of your Air. That’s all that’s required in terms of connections.
I don’t know if the Air has the horsepower you need to run SdrDx, that will depend upon how recent it is. My older Air just barely runs it. But no harm in trying.
Settings for this would be audio IQ under the right click dialog for the FCD button; select “line in” as the sound input source using the SND button. At this point, you start the software with a left-click on the FCD button. Any questions, let me know. In fact, let me know if it works, very interested, been looking at the Elecraft KX3 myself.

Your software did not well working with the fun cube pro + receiver
Audio works ok But frequency tuning is not possible.
On this moment I can only work in virtual window with the fun cube pro + receiver.
With the old one work your software quit well.

Gerard, the FCDP+ is different from the FCDP. Therefore, I had to make changes and additions to SdrDx.
The 2.12 beta version has these additions, and you are welcome to try them — the beta version is in the usual place — or you can wait until 2.12 is released.

Hi Ben,
I’m happy Fcd plus+ is now working with Beta 2.12!
Only problem are frequencies above 16Mhz.
There’s only silence…or QRM…not signal at all.
But I can immagine You know already that problem.
Your software is however fantastic and I enjoy a lot!
Thanks Ben, the Magician as I wrote in my blog.

Thanks, Marco. I hope the 16 mhz problem will be cleared up during the coming week as soon as I can test it, and then you can download a new beta to try it. I think Gerard has put his finger on the nature of the problem, I just have to be able to search for it and test my fix, which I can’t do without a unit — one is on its way though and so we should be all good very shortly.

Is there a way to use the R820T with SdrDx? Just picked up a couple for cheap.
Nice looking software.

Ken, not until / unless someone writes an SDR-XX network emulation for them. SdrDx understands the RFSPACE network protocol, so what needs to be done is make the stick act that way; an example is available in the form of the SDR-XX server, which provides this function for the SDR-IQ (a USB SDR.) I have source code for the SDR-XX server for OSX 10.6.8 and later (an XCode project); Nothing for the PC, however.
