About 200 miles to the east of us, in North Dakota, are the Bakken oil fields. They produce a lot of oil, as this image of part of one of the many trains that rumble through here serves to demonstrate. This look results from shooting on a rainy day with an 85mm lens so as to flatten out the aspect slightly, then working the shadows to bring up details like the tree, and the highlights to recover some detail in the high energy shine on the top of the tank cars and in the road.
