| The latest addition to the catsle is a hi-def camera attached to our security system. So now we can watch them as they hang out in there. This is the view from the camera, which I snapped off of a security monitor. That mat is heated underneath the cover. It's designed to hit about 102°F, which is (approximately) the normal internal temperature for a cat. On cold days, when no cat is laying on it, the surface of the cover hits about 30° to 40° above ambient; for instance, recently on a 30° day, I measured the top of the cover at 60° (with infrared temperature sensor gun.) But when they lie on it, the cover can't dissipate the heat, and so it rises to close to their body temperature underneath them. Really a pretty fabulous thing.
