Comet P17/Holmes
| Minimal processing in Canon's DPP, primarily adjustment of noise and sharpness, plus a slight push on saturation. Also cropped and saved from DPP. Canon EOS 40D, Canon EF 85 mm ƒ/1.2L II USM @ ƒ/1.2, 3.2s exposure, ISO 1600, 10s delay on trigger. Tripod mount; AF on mars, then set to manual focus and fire. Photo taken from the base of the cell tower near mile marker 13, highway 24, a bit north of Glasgow MT. This location provides a several hundred foot rise in elevation, as well as getting away from the brightly reflecting condensation that hangs over town in the winter as a result of all the natural gas heating there.
