Connecticut
This is SSN 22, the USS Connecticut, ARGOS' model # AS 49VR. The Connecticut is a Seawolf class attack submarine. At the time she was launched in 1997, it was one of three in the class, and the class had the reputation at that time of being the quietest submarine design ever put to sea. She carries a crew of 12 officers and 121 enlisted men. Published armaments include Harpoon and Tomahawk missiles from VLS-tubes, eight 660 mm torpedo Tubes for Mk-48 torpedoes, and the ability to lay mines. Submerged, she can make 35 knots or more; on the surface, about 20 knots. She is 353 feet long, consequently this model, at 1/1250th, is 3.38" in length. One thing that is different about this model is that it is a "full-hull" model; most of my collection are "waterline" models, that is, they're designed to sit on a flat surface and show only what you would see if they were in the water, immersed to their waterlines.
