Too early to tell which variety it is, if it is D. Cavernosa, we'll have to remove it (sniff, it's pretty!) but if it's Versluysii, it'll just stay in one place, apparently. Either way, a very pretty and interesting algae. Common name is "bubble weed." I don't know why every darned thing that isn't planned has to be a "weed." It's an algae; it's as interesting as any other algae, and no less so. [grumps off into the distance] Update: One of my emerald crabs ate it anyway. Sigh. EXIF:
