Pinup Statue Diorama
This figurine was created by the French artist Fariboles after a pinup drawn by Berthe of a character named Dottie. It stands about ten inches tall; I photographed it in a white softbox, then keyed it and composed it over a background from Owens Originals. Keying, composition and shadowing were done in WinImages, conversion from raw in Aperture. The un-edited version is here. I've got a collection of statues like this (except the rest have more feminine hair.) I might make a project of shooting them at some point. The quality varies widely from one item to another; this one is pretty high-end. Canon EOS 40D, Canon EF 100 mm ƒ/2.8 macro USM prime @ ƒ/3.2, ISO 100, 1/50th exposure, 10s shutter holdoff, AF at waist, natural light through open house door through white softbox.
