Moon
Canon EOS 40D, Sigma 600mm catadioptric ƒ/8 (fixed), ISO 800, 1/200th exposure, tripod. Processing in Aperture and WinImages. Given how soft this lens is, I'm pretty happy with the detail recovery you see here. Two kinds of unsharp mask, three kinds of convolution-based sharpening, two kinds of noise reduction. The itch for a long lens grows every time I use this thing. I've seen some really beautiful lunar captures using the Canon EF 400 mm ƒ/5.6L USM with the 1.4x and 2x teleconverters.
