| This fellow has been showing up for a couple of weeks now on the ramp leading to our front door (a folded 60 ft ramp) and along the sides of the building. He's very cautious, but has recently begun to allow us to feed him while remaining nearby. Today, he fed right in front of me, and allowed me to pet him and scratch his chin, cheeks and back; a few hours later, he came to me when I called him without the extra temptation of food and again enjoyed some attention. This evening, Deb and I coaxed him indoors. We'll spend a few days getting to know him, then it's off to the vet where he'll be tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV (NEGATIVE! Yay!); if he passes those, we'll bring him home for good. If he doesn't... then we can't in good conscience expose the other cats to him, and he'll have to remain an outdoor critter. Either way, we'll have him neutered. Notable issues... his tail is about 1/2 length, obviously the result of misfortune, and his coat left my hand smelling of engine oil and general outdoors fug. In other words, he's filthy and a bit beaten up. You can see some wood chips on him, that's just because he's on the ramp where I do a lot of the woodwork for the new house. He's got a torn up spot on his ear, probably the result of male to male conflict. Nothing too serious. I'm presuming he's a "fellow", based on the musculature and the broad muzzle. Could be wrong... 😊 (later... nope... not wrong.) We named him LOLcat. EXIF:
