Jet at Sunset
The aircraft was very high; one visual hint of this is the contrail, another is that although the sunset was an incredibly deep orange, there's very little color in the contrail, because the angle from the aircraft's contrail to the sun is a lot more direct. Contrails form due to water vapor in a jet's exhaust fumes. When cold, upper tropospheric air and the hot exhaust gases mix to the point where the air is saturated, ice crystallizes out in the form of a cloud along the path of the exhaust.
