It was storming pretty good, so I pointed my camera out my closed car window, tilted up about 35° and hand-triggered during a strike in heavy rain. I held the shutter half-pressed and manually full-pressed at first light. Shot through a rain-streaked window. Yes, that's uncropped with a wide angle lens. I've uploaded a version with the original exposure right from the camera inset at the upper right. I had the camera adjusted so it was taking pretty good shots of lightning on the other side of town. You can see what happened when the bolt was "right there", though... I can only credit RAW and Aperture with getting a somewhat usable result from that over-exposed zorchmeister of a shot. This bolt struck on both sides of my car. So I was under it, or in it, or some such horrifying thing. The thunder was so loud my ears rang. Whoopee. 😊 Not a high quality image, but one I'm going to remember for a while...
