In the morning, the sun is far to the left, and the window is illuminated perfectly evenly; our point of view is from below — the base of the 6-foot tall window is about at eye level, and so we're basically looking up at the sky, which contributes to the even illumination.

From outside, the base of the window is about ten feet off the ground, and about seven feet above the ramp, so the clear spots are not a privacy issue.
