The Triangulum galaxy, or M33 in the Messier catalog, is a magnitude 5.7 object of 1 2'00" aspect. It's about 3 million light years away and has a diameter of about 50,000 light years. This was my first evening out with my Astrotrac. I made a lot of mistakes, and consequently didn't bring home a lot of good frames. By the end of the evening, I'd pretty much figured it all out, but it was getting cold and was exhausted from a busy day, so the super-clean many frame results will have to wait for another night. I'm very happy with the Astrotrac, though, it does just what it's supposed to do. When the operator isn't being an idiot... 😊
