Among other things, I collect shortwave receivers. This one is unique from the standpoint that it was designed in such a way as to live among your high fidelity gear and not look out of place. They were made around 1979. It's a pretty good performer, but prone to overload under the worst conditions. Given a good antenna, though, it is a great deal of fun to use. There are some modifications that have been developed that improve the radio's performance, but I decided not to implement them; I have modern gear that is extremely high performance in a SW monitoring role, and making this old beauty "non-stock" sort of tweaks my collecting sensibilities; right now, it is as they shipped it, and if you use it, that's the experience you have.
