| Below Fort Peck Dam are small lakes that were cut out using dredges; these are called, locally anyway, the "dredge cuts." This is a view to the west, over the westernmost of them, into the sun in late afternoon, taking advantage of what is almost a break in the clouds — it's been raining here for over a week, and we really haven't seen much sun. This burn-through of the higher clouds almost qualifies, but not quite. Handheld, IS on, use of center point brightness sampled off-center to control the exposure.
