Home Theater Audio Plan
This is how my theater gear is set up. Need to add considerably more power conditioning, as what I have now won't handle all those amps. Otherwise, I'm well along and having lots of fun. Nine MA-700's so far, distributed across a 7.1 speaker arrangement. The R/C links are remote control links that the Pre-Pro uses to place the amps on standby and power them up. Each link has a few mS delay before it sends the signal on, which reduces the high current surge that would otherwise occur if all the amps powered up together. The AV7005 itself is really pretty nice. There are some bugs, which I have duly reported to Marantz, who in turn has shown no progress in addressing them; however, I know how to work around them which will do. One of my favorite features is the built-in IP radio streaming capability. While the bitrates, and so the quality, do vary, for casual listening there's just no downside. The range of available streams in terms of program content is just staggering. For a fellow who loves music — and I do — it's very much like being the proverbial kid in the candy shop.
