Montana Road at Night
This was taken at quarter past midnight on a return trip from Miles City, Montana, back to Glasgow, Montana. Basically, the trip is 30 minutes on a 4-lane superhighway, plus two hours of what you see here — no gas stations or convenience stores, no phones, almost non-existent cellular coverage, not much of anything, really. Although you do encounter a fair number of deer, antelope, rabbits, and other bemused residents of the plains vying to become the cause of your next insurance claim. Shoulders? We don't need no steenking shoulders... you pull your car off on the side of the road here, and it is very likely to crumble away and dump you down a deep ravine. For safety's sake, if you get in trouble, you pull up to a section of the road like this one where you can see a ways ahead, up there where the terrain to the side of the road goes up, not down. It's little tricks like this that enable them to find you the next day. 😊 EXIF:
