Triffids
You have to be an SF aficionado to get the joke, which is maybe a little lame anyway. This is a head of a different kind of lettuce on our Tower Garden, which in turn is a standing waterfall of nutrient bath that nourishes a series of plantings distributed around its length and height. The above growth is despite a real pounding from a hailstorm, and just a few weeks after the storm. On the tower, we're successfully growing strawberries, beans, peppers, lettuce, cucumbers and a few other things I can't recall right now. The thing is amazing; the rate of growth is astonishing and the veggies are to swoon over. EXIF:
