This was a five-petaled flower (a hibiscus) surrounded by green leaves that I took a picture of at the Miami zoo. To get the image you see here, I applied WinImages' "Wonk" function, sharpened the result until I got that green "rain" effect, adjusted the levels a little, and pushed the saturation. I like the result; it's like a waterfall of petals. Wonk is ideal to use on images that have a center point of interest and a surrounding area of a different color (which is just about precisely the description of any flower blossom.) The center becomes the top edge, and the details surrounding the center are re-arranged to form a continuous horizontal tableaux. One of the interesting consequences of the wonk effect is that the resulting images can tile horizontally; where they end at the left side is exactly where they begin, minus one pixel, at the right side. And vice-versa, of course. Then, because the result will tile horizontally essentially has become a continuous image along the X axis you can "roll" it (Geom group / Roll effect) along the X axis for the effect you like best. Very strange stuff.
