John — Spinning Crescent Kick
| Canon EOS 50D, Canon EF-S 18-55 mm ƒ/3.5-5.6 IS zoom @ 18 mm, ƒ/3.5, 1/60th sec. exposure, ISO 3200, handheld, available light. Manual mode. John is one of my advanced first dan students; this shot was taken after Wednesday evening class, October 16th, 2008. He's been a student of mine for about ten years; he's also an ex-marine, two tours. And a great bass player. This style kick is launched from a standing position, right leg back, a half turning jump is taken to wind it up in the CW direction of the kick then a second leap from the half-turn landing and the kick is snapped out against the launch from the ground. You don't want this to land upside your head. 😊 EXIF:
