From our saltwater aquarium. This is a worm that lives in (and creates) a tube; it has a crown of feathery wisps that it uses to extract phytoplankton and other nutrients from the water. It is light sensitive; if you pass a hand between the aquarium lamps such that it is shadowed, it will retract in a fraction of a second, leaving what looks like an empty tube. The feathers you see here are about two inches across, so it is quite large and easy to observe. EXIF:
