I was shooting Venus at 200 mm, handheld, but accidentally left it in AE for the first shot. The camera wanted more light, lots of it, before it would consent to closing the shutter. So I went off target and waved it at the city lights. And here you have the results. For the record, Venus is a sunlit object, so you use sunlight compatible settings on manual. Fortuitous, but unintentional, light painting. 😊 I like the "cat" Venus itself painted. EXIF:
