This was my first evening out with my Astrotrac. I made a lot of mistakes, and consequently didn't bring home a lot of good frames. By the end of the evening, I'd pretty much gotten it properly aligned (mostly by accident), but it was getting cold and I wasn't very well prepared for that, so the super-clean many frame results will have to wait for another night. I'm happy with the Astrotrac, though, it does what it's supposed to do. And as this image shows, it's possible to get it to track for five minutes and stay on target. I just have to nail down the polar alignment procedure. That's not anywhere near as easy as they make it out to be.
