It's a heightfield with some mountainous humps at one end, upon which I delivered a righteous cratering using this. WinImages only has a heightfield "previewer", so the image you see here isn't of the same quality you'd get if you stuck this heightfield into a dedicated landscape tool such as Terragen, but if you're looking to actually edit the heightfield, this is great.
