Hydromedusae on Aquarium Wall
|This fellow, Staurocladia oahuensis, is about 50 thousandths across, just a miniscule little thing. Noticed him hanging on the front wall of the aquarium today, have to be careful not to wipe him out when I sweep for algae!|
He's quite active, waving those little tentacles around, they're probably sticky. He's attached at the center, not by the tentacles.
I had a fair bit of difficulty getting this focused. At the very finest level of detail, the Canon lens has mechanical backlash that makes that last little bit of focus accuracy very troublesome to obtain. Luckily, in this case, the subject was co-operative.
Cropped, processed for levels and sharpness using the Mac version of Canon's photo software. Which really isn't too bad for that kind of work — I was quite agreeably surprised.
