Tornado — Right Out Our New Door!
Now here was a rather alarming vista... we were watching some stuff and a storm approached; even though the new door was dusty from sanding the mudwork, I thought I'd set up the camera on a tripod and record some of the incoming lightning. I got a little more than I bargained for. In the image, you can see tube on the bottom is quite smooth compared to the rest of the cloud detail — it was rotating. It went right over us, and when it did, the entire building creaked and squealed and otherwise let us know it wasn't happy — at all. I've been in here in 80 mph winds and it didn't do that, so I can only imagine what slipped above us last night. I didn't think to kill all the lights and the video projector in the room behind me, so there are some reflections in the shot. I'll know better next time. The illumination of the clouds is provided by lightning. Without the lightning, it was pitch black out there aside from town lighting. EXIF:
