Hawk
| This beauty was soaring about 20 feet over my head and a good distance off to the south; it was intentionally riding the wind and remaining in place over one spot on the ground. I shot about 20 pictures with different wing attitudes, etc. What I didn't do, because I didn't think I'd have enough time, was set the camera for all the focus points, which would have resulted in a lot more keepers. Live and learn. Just beginning to shoot wildlife, my background is all portrait and pinup. Canon EOS 40D, Canon EF 100-400 mm ƒ/4.5-5.6L IS USM zoom @ 400 mm, ISO 500, ƒ/5.6, 1/1600th exposure, handheld, IS (mode 1) on, AF on.
